The past week has been filled with much fun and much practicality. I'm excited to share :)
First, my old iPhone 3Gs is finally dunzo. It lasted a while and was good to me. Yet three days ago I made my first big girl purchase!

Moving on to more exciting things, we had the Fourth off, so I went to Jen's lake lot in Shanksville, PA with some staff! Her family was so hospitable and gracious, and the town was just as small as she described. Unless you're from Shanksville, you've probably only heard of it because it is the place where United 93 crashed on Sept 11th. Even though we didn't visit the memorial, it was a sobering just to be minutes from that field. Best decision ever though, during our three-car caravan road trip we used walkie talkies! Trip highlights: hanging out with a great mix of staff, enjoying my new suit from JCrew, cooking over the fire, jet skiing, laying out on the fun station aka water trampoline, and meeting Jen's sweet family!

Dun dun dun...update ahead! There's an increasing chance that I'll be in the D.C. area after my internship at 4th is over! I want to ask for your prayers, but right now I'm only going to say that I'm praying, writing cover letters and updating my resume. I also have a potential place to live! Please pray for doors to keep opening if this is where I am supposed to be! I'm also still trying to discern my inclinations towards college ministry, so prayers for wisdom would be oh so helpful :)
Speaking of my college ministry, this summer is going so well. I can't believe it's been more than a month! I love being able to look back and reflect on what only time can reveal. During a "typical week" (if there is such a thing!) there are meetings, plans, and administrative tasks, but the most important thing I do is spend time with my girls. Of course I have loved the planned one-on-one dates, but I also have been blessed by several unexpected, spontaneous times with them. It's those times where God especially me of the amazing privilege it is to be used by Him...
I would be lying if I said I wasn't experiencing any of life's challenges, but I'm amazed at how God's Word graces me at just the right time. Sometimes it actually does feel really graceful and other times it feels harsh, but I know God is loving when I feel both ways. My friends, roommates, and church have provided accountability and encouragement for me whether I know I need it or not. Bottom line, I'm so thankful that I'm here and can't wait for what's to come :)
